xanga, we meet again.

i'm horrible at updating this thing nowadays.  you'd think it's because i'm too busy, but sadly i report only a case of the lazy bug.  to give you a quick update, not too much has happened since the rise of the two-headed turtle.  i finished up classes at extension only to find myself busy with holiday shopping and job hunting.  but between all the hunting and shopping, i did some boarding.  the most recent trip was to mammoth last weekend where i unfortunately injured myself.  the first day i took quite a number of falls all landing on flat on my face introducing my knees to a variety of colors due to numerous subdermal hematomas.  ouch.  so on the second day, i thought to protect my knees with some dandy old knee pads only to fall on my posterior end.  the first run was the most brutal---- landing my rear quite hard causing the pain to run up my spine and relocate in my lower back for the rest of the week.  and that pain has settled in and made a nice home, but hopefully i can soon kick the pain for it's definitely overstayed its welcome (or lack thereof).  to end on a brighter note, here are some pictorial documentation of the trip for those who are more  visual (like me).  enjoy, readers!

oh my knees!

before the second day began, i was happy.

we even met wolly... the mammoth

then i went on my first run...

it was great... until i fell.

here's a group of us...

the girls on the last day.

the boys.

everyone.

and giant icicles... yay!

... til next time. i say adieu.

Two-headed turtle!

Store manager Jay Jacoby displays a two-headed red slider turtle at Big Al's Aquarium Supercenter in East Norriton Pa., Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007. The rare turtle is on display at the store. (AP Photo/Matt Rourke)

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - A pet store has bought a two-headed turtle from a collector and plans to keep it on display, the store manager said. The 2-month-old turtle, actually conjoined red-eared slider twins, fits on a silver dollar. if(window.yzq_d==null)window.yzq_d=new Object();window.yzq_d['m87ZNdG_Ruk-']='&U=13bn79foo%2fN%3dm87ZNdG_Ruk-%2fC%3d346472.11508441.12010359.1442997%2fD%3dLREC%2fB%3d2700580';

It has two heads sticking out from opposite ends of its shell, along with a pair of front feet on each side. But there is just one set of back feet and one tail.

The turtle is apparently healthy, and the species can live 15 to 20 years, said Jay Jacoby, manager of Big Al's Aquarium Supercenter in East Norriton. The turtle has not yet been named.

The store would not disclose how much it paid.

The same exotic-turtle collector sold another Big Al's store a conjoined-twin turtle about 20 years ago, Jacoby said. The man lives in Florida, but he declined to identify him.

from yahoo news

does that mean the turtles try to walk it goes nowhere because one will want to go left and the other will want to go right?  it looks kinda creepy... eck!

finally, i'm done with my exam.  no more studying, i'm so sick of standardized exams!  time to play!

i know it's been about a month since i returned, but i have yet to update y'all fond fans on my european trip.  it was a whirlwind of cities and activities.  the cities were wonderful to explore and were everything i expected, though more time would have been greatly appreciated... another time perhaps.  so are ya ready?  here we go!

first priscilla and i hit up london.  our flight going there got delayed so we only had half a day to explore the entire city.  we were speeding walking everywhere.  we got a chance to hit up trafalgar square, buckingham palace, house of parliament, and big ben.

next day, we were off to amsterdam.  a whole day of driving.... eck!  let me tell you being on a bus with 50 other people is definitely no fun.  feel so cramped up all the time.  the night we got in we on a canal cruise which turned out to be more of a booze cruise.  the next day was much more eventful.  we got to see the van gogh museum which i was really excited about.  and we also got to see anne frank's house.  it really brings her diary to life and the memory of the holocaust to a new light.  we almost didn't get to make it back in time to catch our tour bus and contiki tours wait for no one.  but after some panic and running, we made it!

off to germany we go!  we first stop in the rhineland near st. goar on the first night.  there was absolutely nothing to do in that small town, it was mainly for scenic viewing.  next day we come into munich but since we hit traffic, we only got a half hour in the city.  so we only had the chance to climb up st. peter's tower and get a quick bird's eye view of the city.  after we viewed the glockenspiel's lackluster performance, we headed to a bear hall where both priscilla and i downed a liter of beer.  who knew our bladders could hold so much?

back to the bus as we head to the austrian tyrol for some white water rafting and bike riding.  this was our favorite place.  not only because it was the most fun, but we think it is also the most beautiful.  it was both our first time white water rafting, but we fell in love with it.  can't wait to do it again!

next we headed for venice.  after a sweaty demonstration in the oven of the glass blowing factory, we lined up for st. mark's basilica.  right as we got to the front of the line, they said sorry we're closing.  sad!  so we opted for doge's palace that was right next door and got to cross the bridge of sighs.  the prison was quite shocking, but the palace was beauty.  we were scheduled for a gondola ride right after and because we came out of the palace late, we though we had missed the meeting for our tour group.  we were so worried.  but as we were heading in the wrong direction, so girls from the group saw us and we ran after them.  thankfully, we caught up to the rest of the group.  the ride was relaxing compared to our hurried tour of st. mark's square, but it was rather uneventful.  the gondalier didn't talk or sing to us.  after we found some lemon cello and gelati, it was delicious!  mm mm!

from venice we head to the swiss alps for two days.  as some of the people went to jungfrau mountain, priscilla and i opted for a cable car ride up the mountain for a scenic day hike.  jungfrau was snowing that day and we were not prepared for that type of weather.  even though the people who went weren't prepared either they still went.  most of them got sick and/or snowburnt.  we were happy with our choice.  after day-long hike, we walked to traummelbach falls which is a waterfall located inside a mountain.  it was quite impressive and we got soaked climbing up to the falls.

then we come to a close with paris.  good old france was a wonder to see and to explore.  we got into the city quite early so we got to see the eiffel tower the first day.  the next day we went shopping for perfume then headed out to the louvre for some good ole culture.  then walked all the way to notre dame and back.

on the flight back, we both got sick because it was super cold.  i couldn't sleep, my throat felt like it was going to close shut.  all the touring and lack of good sleep really tired out my body, no wonder i was so susceptible.  but no worries, all better now.  i would show you photos, but i'm too lazy.  so just hit up my facebook and if you don't have that... well, too bad, just join.  :)
